Business Trips 101

Hello World! (I'm still alive I promise!) I apologize from the bottom of might heart from the couple month hiatus I took from blogging.  My job has been taking up a lot of my time, but it a great way!  Since I last posted, I have been traveling a good amount for work so today I figured I'd highlight the must haves for a successful business trip.

Business Trips

Business trips are amazing opportunities for a young girl like me to not only travel, but learn from the experience.  I have been so lucky to have already traveled out to Indianapolis, Indiana, Atlanta, Georgia, and Stafford, Virginia.

Packing for business trips are extremely crucial, because this is the time that you REALLY don't want to forget anything. Bringing multiple options for clothes is important, but the key is to bring items that are versatile such as a black pencil skirt that can be paired with any colored top, and don't forget your blazer! As for accessories, keep it simple, it is much easier to only bring the things you wear everyday to avoid losing anything. When it comes down to the luggage, pack lightly (you'll be on your own when it comes to lugging where it needs to go!) I have found that garment bags are key, I'll definitely be investing in one soon!  Lastly, don't forget a great bag to carry around the necessities like an agenda, iPad, notebook, and pens!

Here are some moments from my past business trips.

3-4. Girls trip to Stafford!

Until next time, stay classy & fabulous!

The Preppy Pink Pony

A few weeks ago I stumbled upon a cute little store tucked away in McLean, Virginia called The Preppy Pink Pony.  This store has everything a preppy girl needs.  The store front is covered in pink and green and is so welcoming.  The second you walk into the store, you find yourself in monogram heaven.  Everything in the store can be customized, from towels, to iPhone cases, to house wear, to tote bags.

Some feature brands are Scout, Malabar Bay, and Palm Beach Sandals!  All of these products can be customized and monogrammed.  After spending a good hour or so in the store, I walked away with the makeup bag featured below!

Monogramming took about a week (the store has two monograming ladies that come in!), but you get a personal call from the store letting you know when your products are ready!  I love the way my bag came out, I love the combination of the navy and pink, and my monogram came out beautifully!  This store must be checked out by all my ladies in the Northern Virginia area (the customer service is amazing as well!)

Find them at - 1355 Chain Bridge Road, McLean, VA 22101

22nd Birthday!

First off I apologize for abusing my blog... my new job has me working hard and late so I haven't gotten a steady schedule going on yet, but now that I'm starting to get back into the groove I am back and ready to provide y'all with more fantastic posts!

Today, marks the day of my 22nd birthday! With birthday's come the perfect outfit, and with the lack of time this year I am going to have to rummage through my closet to find THE outfit!  Birthday outfits need to have an extra pizzazz to it, it's the one day of the year where everything is about you, so something cute, comfortable and a little flashy is always a great option.

Here are some adorable statement dresses for a special birthday!  I love dresses that have a little spunk to them, and a great pair of heels can make an outfit.  Also, a birthday crown is always a must when you are out on the town!  Check out my my outfits from my 21st birthday in Atlantic City last year!

Work to Play Outfits

Today was my first FULL day of work! It was a crazy day filled with a lot of learning and interacting with a number of different types of people.  I managed to get home pretty late today (thanks to intense highway traffic because of Northern Virginia road construction) so I am leaving you with a quick post!

All Work... Some Play

I always love the idea of finding versatile clothes that can take you from a long day in the office to a night out on the town with close friends.  Showcased above is how I would have change my "All Work" outfit (that I actually did wear to work today!) on the left into a cute "Time to Play" outfit shown on the right.  I was actually lucky enough to have found the pink paisley skirt above from H & M for only $7.00!

What are some pieces in your wardrobe that you love wearing both professionally and for fun?

The Rabbit Hole

Earlier this month I found The Rabbit Hole on Etsy and I could not say no to their Lilly Pulitzer checkbook cover.  I know writing checks is extremely old school, but the checkbook cover was a great add-on because it not only protects my checks and my account log, but it makes checks 10x more appealing to carry around.

Based out of Texas, The Rabbit Hole provides customers with checkbook covers, passport covers, luggage tags, and mini wallets in various prints and designs. I love the design and quality of my checkbook cover, but there are so many design options and customization options that it made it difficult for me to choose just one! Here is the cover I chose, featured in White Zin ($6.25).

Here are some other adorable options:

Checkbook Cover Pink and Green Preppy Floral Mumsie - a cardstock and clear vinyl duplicate check book cover 2

Passport Cover - Bloomers Preppy Pink and Green Floral - a cardstock and clear vinyl Case Holder Wallet 5a

This purchase was my very first Etsy purchase, and it was a great experience.  Susan, the owner followed up with me right after my purchase, and had the checkbook cover mailed to me within a few days (PLUS the cover came wrapped in green and the enveloped was sealed with pink tape!).
